Table and wine rack are finished!
It's perfect I love it <3 I couldn't quite do the screws up properly with just the screwdriver so I need Dad's drill to completely screw it on. Also the way the middle bit sits inside the frame when not in use it stupid? And I'll need to sort that out. But it's GORGEOUS. It looks professional, like I bought it like that. $20! The stain and varnish cost more than that XD; I do still have half the pots of stain and varnish, tho, and still had plenty of white left over from when I was painting the house. Also!
My beautifully mounted TV <3 So that corner of the room is now done! Though I will buy a basket or something for the Nintendo controllers. They're sort of just dumped on the shelf right now. There's a hole in the wall behind the TV that you could almost fit your fist through which comes out in my wardrobe underneath one of the shelves, then the other hole is down behind the subwoofer by the powerpoint, so that's where all the cables are hidden.
It makes SUCH a difference getting rid of the old buffet. Having all the light colours--the white speakers and shelves, the pale green walls and light coffee carpet--it's just so much more open now. LOVE.
And I finished a chapter! My god I've been sitting on that thing for literally half a year. Yay.
And Cassie and I have booked Japan accommodation! I am so goddamn excited. We've mostly got reasonably cheap stuff, through Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto (which is where we'll be for half the time), then one nice night in Hiroshima and one REALLY nice night at the base of Mt Fuji with an outdoor onsen and frigging amazing food everywhere. I CAN'T WAIT. It's less than a month away omfg. Now it's all booked it feels really real. EEE!
