Why must lighting be so expensive? Like, there's comparatively not that much to it, and yet it's looking like it'll be one of the more expensive elements of the house. I got my quote from the place where Laura's brother works and can hence get me a pretty impressive discount, but it's still quite hellish. I'm just doing studio, bedroom and living/dining at this stage, everything else can wait. This is what I've been
looking at:
This cluster in the bedroom, with the two spotlights over the bed for reading.
In the studio, the hanging ones. One over the computer, one over the drawing spot and the third the same distance away over to the right.
These ones don't have any example room photos, but this'd be the living/dining. A cluster of two small (14cm diameter) and a large (20cm) in the living room and three small ones over the dining table.
Okay so this was the pipe-dream of wondering just how much of a discount he could get me, the 'wouldn't it be cool if...' lighting. Unfortunately for the super expensive ones they don't have all that much of a markup, so they're still hellishly expensive. I'm just putting them here cos they're just so PRETTY.
So for all the pretties I actually want, not the sparkly crystal ones at the bottom, it's still over $1500. And that's before getting the electrician in. For something I can't take with me that's a lot =/ So onward we look.
