I finally imported my LJ to Dreamwidth, including my friends list. I think that means my LJ friends are automatically given access to my Dreamwidth account, correct? (Assuming they go to Dreamwidth to read it

You're welcome! In this case - it's a been there, done that. I have something in my entries, first made for greatest journal to add people via the admin console, that adds friends with the same name on LJ with some work. But you could end up friending people that aren't the same on LJ.
When checking out the entry where I had the info, I've found something for DW:
Quote: Enter a LiveJournal username to check. This will fetch a list of your LiveJournal friends, and will then check to see if Dreamwidth accounts with the same names exist. (Note: even if a Dreamwidth username exists, it is not necessarily the same person as the LiveJournal username!
Found you now and added you. And it seems I haven't friended everyone I have at LJ either, have to check myself.
Use it, you don't have that much friends it shouldn't be so much to check the found DW accounts - it's not that much work than the other solution; way easier too. Good luck. :)
