YouTube answered a question: Will Tom Baker appear on the "New Who"? No. He was so torn when he left; part of him regretted his decision to leave, part of him was unhappy. The second time it was asked, he quipped that he has a rich wife, so he can demand a higher per diem. "If they ask nicely," he would consider something like Derek Jacobi's part in "Utopia"! Wouldn't it have been chilling? Villains have more fun, you see. *chuckle*
The first time I saw the video above, I couldn't quite hear what Tom said: I thought he said his wife wouldn't mind a break (i.e., she would love it if he had work in London, for a day or two. Get him out of the house! :-))
Finally, at an earlier appearance, he admitted that he didn't memorize the co-ordinates of Gallifrey, he called out the phone number for BBC Drama, London! Even though it was obviously a London number, no one called him on it. :)
