I lost Blackie a couple of months back. I don't think I have mentioned this to many people, mostly because I know compassion for animals is not so high up on someone's list in general. Panda had not been eating well the past couple of days and we didn't want to let it to chance anymore that he would get better by himself. So we called a doc that came and visited him for his ringworm infection a few days prior. That guy simply said he was unable to come. Shouldn't really come as a surprise considering the fact that he took five days to finally come and visit him in the first place. But I was still irritated. What in God's name are you a doctor of animals for if you don't have compassion for them?

Then as a last resort and dad's advice, we called the doctor who operated on Blackie. He came right away and gave him a proper checkup. Took his temperature and then gave him an injection to help with the fever. Panda started feeling better in the late morning. He came again in the evening and gave him another injection. He's suffering from gastritis and with the medicines prescribed, he is expected to make a recovery in good time.

I really cannot deal with losing another child-cat. I really cannot.

Prayers my darlings that he makes a swift recovery.

cats, panda
