Life 2.08 -- Okay, I know everyone hates Charlie/Jen and Dani/Tidwell, but I don't even care, I like both those things, screw you guys, fandom. My policy is, please, hot, hot, hotass detectives, make out with someone. Anyone. I genuinely do not care who. And my feelings on both these ships bear that policy out. I JUST LIKE THE MAKEOUTS. Also, I like Tidwell, I think he's hilarious and delightful.
And okay, so I'm still not crazy about Jen, but I am REALLY enjoying all the history they are putting into that relationship. And God, TONIGHT'S THING. ASG:HLKASGK:LASG Maaaaybe I've been calling this the SEX EPISODE ever since the promo pics of them at the motel came out, whatever. And maybe I very much enjoyed this. And it's not just that I like Charlie Crews doing it with people. Well, it's only partly that. But seriously, afterwards, when they said I loved you, in the past tense?? AUGH MY HEART. That, uh, really worked for me.
The rest of this episode was just super awesome. Ted cooking a baby turkey for Charlie and (presumably) their young ward Rachel! Charlie wanting to exchange gifts! Charlie manically shopping! Papaya on a stick! DESCRIBING DANI. Also the look on Dani's face when he said he described her and gave her the sunglasses? YEP, I SHIP THOSE TWO TOO, GET USED TO IT.
Anyway, I'm super pleased that Life has gotten steadily better after a shaky start to the season, because the last bunch has been pure delight. A+++
Also, I am SO DELIGHTED with Charlie and Ted playing My Two Dads to Rachel, because my real ship is Charlie/Ted (... and also I kind of dirty wrong ship Rachel/Charlie, what're you gonna do), so I hope that continues.
Also, yay conspiracy wall coming back! Yay AGENT BODNER coming back! Yay Mark Rawls coming back! (And boooo, getting his head shot off, oh well.) KEEP IT UP, SHOW.
Yuletide - Dear Yuletide santa, I don't actually have much to add to my requests! I mean, I don't like (oh, who am I kidding, I'm going to add the qualifier "most" here) rapefic or bestiality, but were you really going to write that for yuletide anyway?
1) Chrestomanci -- I loooove those kids in that book, so anything about them will be awesome. Shippy as you feel led! Actually, Cat/Gwendolyn would be so CREEPY AND DIRTY AND SO WRONG IT'S RIGHT, but hahaha, I do not actually expect you to do incest. Otherwise, I like gen and het and slash and things that are subtle and awesome, and things about growing up, and I love the magic of those worlds. So anything exploring any of those things! Or if you have something you really want to write, do that.
2) Hearts and Bones -- Haha, if you looked at my journal, you may have noticed I like Damian Lewis. Basically anything about Mark Rose will BLOW MY MIND WITH AWESOMENESS. Uh, I would prefer if you gloss over how he totally abandons his kid in series 2, though, I have mentally declared that NON CANON. (Hee, you can talk about it if you want. But probably the only thing I wouldn't be into in this fandom would be Mark bashing, so, in the interest of full-disclosure.) So Mark Rose fic, or else Michael/Amanda, because I ship them with the fire of a thousand suns.
3) Life -- I was not lying when I say I ship Charlie with everyone, and that I will read anything that has Charlie having sex in it. Literally. Anything. I just want this fic to be Charlie-centric, and then I will be happy. Gen, het, slash, I could care less. Go nuts!
