Law & Order: SVU Guide

Nov 20, 2005 23:06

So I heart Law & Order: SVU, except for how it's really a terrible show, in that it's about really upsetting things, and it's kind of sanctimonious and often not very well-written - but, uh, anyway, I heart writing FIC about this show, so, uh, yeah. Unfortunately there are very few online resources for episode guides, character guides, etc, ( Read more... )

Hee, oh, editorializing about how much Casey sucks, I feel so professional.

Also, yes, I am proud! Of how much I know about a TV that I barely even like. OH AWESOME.

I wish Dick Wolf would put me in charge of this show instead of Billy the Intern. There'd be less ripped from the headlines and more MAKING OUT.

I've never seen a whole episode of this show, and now I don't have to! THIS is the way to watch a TV show: Kovsky Notes.

Elliot is a devout Catholic, though his Catholicism tends to come and go (hello, WRITERS).

so whatever, SVU.

Though he did manage to make the vests hot, which is like a superpower.

(And basically managed to win the case FROM THE WITNESS STAND, because she's AWESOME.)

I'm not saying Casey sucks, except that I am, and she does.

Bwah! Magnificent. Synopsis feedback, the best kind. :0)

Ahahahahaha, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Synopsis snark is fun.

But why do you love it? I don't get it. It just seems so...pedestrian.

(Although Munch and Fin seem kind of cool but not in *that* way. Ew.)

You know, that is a good question. Because it's not an amazing show, and I am aware of this. (Though it can be pretty good at story-telling - the first couple of times I watched it, it was by accident 'cause it came on after Scrubs or something and I got involved in the story ( ... )

Second of all, since it's not character driven, it can actually be really subtle in the way the characters are developed - it's all kind of quiet and underground, and a lot in the way that the actors play it.

Yes. That's it exactly. All of these people are so imperfect, and not always in the good, "god I love it" way, but the actors can bring out emotions that aren't going to be huge plot lines, which is a lot like how real life can be.

Also, you seem to be saying that the actors do a tremendous amount with what few subtleties they get, and that wouldn't come across unless you watched the show a lot. If you are saying that, I agree.

So, that picture of Olivia is exceptionally hot, yes?

I'm not saying Casey sucks, except that I am, and she does.

Ha!

Thanks for this post.

God, isn't that picture of her hot? I almost died of hotness when I found it. Thank you, internet.

Did I know you were an SVU fan? I keep forgetting, 'cause you like EVERYTHING THAT IS GOOD EVER (ahahahaha, and also SVU. And VM). You are my new BFF.

Did I know you were an SVU fan?

I don't think so, but yeah, I am. It's the whole partner thing. Irresistible. I really only catch the show every once in awhile, though, what with the whole issue of me not having a TV. Plus, the last episode I saw was extremely heavy-handed. Stabler and his RAGE ISSUES OMFG.

You are my new BFF.

I am totally okay with that. ;)

Man, the partner thing KEELS me. SO MUCH. But yeah, seriously, the show has gotten SO heavy-handed with the rage and with the et cetera, it drives me up a wall. And yet I still keep watching, in the hopes that maybe this week Stabler and Benson will finally make out. I am a simple girl with simple dreams.

BEST FRIENDS FOREVER.

Heee, this is awesome. Thank you for reminding me that there was a reason I once liked this show. SVU writers, I hate you so much.

(Also, damn, how much do I love Cragen?)

WHY has SVU gotten so bad this season, Bear? Though I heard a rumor (from Sloane) that there is going to be an episode coming up that is JUST ELLIOT AND OLIVIA IN A CAR ON A STAKEOUT THE WHOLE TIME. I hope it doesn't blow.

Omg, Cragen! He's so dependable and awesome and I heart him so much.

JUST ELLIOT AND OLIVIA IN A CAR ON A STAKEOUT THE WHOLE TIME.

Haha, I really liked that story when it was XF fic and called "Stakeout Through the Heart." Or also any XF episode ever. OMG QUIT RIPPING OFF XF, SVU.

OMG QUIT RIPPING OFF XF, SVU.

omg, FOR SERIOUS. You know what will be even worse? If Mariska DOES get pregnant, and then Olivia has a baby, and it turns out to be either Stabler's or via insemination NO DOUBT BY ALIENS, and if this is the case I HOPE THEY DO NOT GIVE THE BABY MIRACULOUS POWERS AND THEN ABANDON IT.
