I'm losing my job :(
There was a chance it was going to happen anyway because my contract is up at the end of March. If all this hadn't happened, I'd be spending my time chasing and securing future funding but obviously I'm not there to do that and because I've landed everyone with my workload, the avenues I'd started going down have been lost.
I took my sicknote in today and saw my manager who was really sorry about it but there's nothing they can do. But there's good news - the Chief Exec wants to see me because although they can't extend my contract, he'd still like to support me financially. I have no idea what this means! Is he going to keep paying me something, give me a little golden goodbye or whatever it's called, or what? I'm dying to know!
Clinic on Thursday to see what the super-specialists made of me on Friday and then hopefully setting the date for the op. Pay me quick, Mr Chief Exec, I want some nice pyjamas!
