Don't know who's reading this, but for whom it may concern - I've been having a rocky start to the semester. (The trials of a fifth-year college student.)  Also, I've left Starring the Baby-Sitters at home.  However!  I would like to snark on Baby-Sitters' Fright Night very soon.  I was so psyched when I found it in my school's library.  It was my absolute FAVORITE mystery of the series, although that's not saying much.

The reason?  I loved me some Abby.  Some (ahem) older BSC readers might not know who she is, since she came into the series pretty late (around the #90's).  She is the sporty, pun-loving, feminist-y, Jewish girl who seems to be the least favorite of a lot of readers.  I thought she was awesome.  She stood up to Kristy (the only one who did so on a regular basis - grow some cojones, girls!), told bad jokes that my dad would love, and seemed to me to have a life outside the BSC.  And  Fright Night is pretty Abby-centric.

I understand why a lot of people find her annoying.  All the characters have ultra-annoying traits.  Kristy obsesses over the club.  Claudia's spelling would embarrass a ten-year-old.  Mary-Anne uses up three boxes of tissues crying over an infomercial for ceramic kittens.  Dawn is so stuck up her own butt about health food and saving the environment ... and who wasn't taken in by Stacey's "sophistication"? (I was.)

Please don't get me started on Mallory.  I want to like her, I do, but ...

Whatevs.  Just know that Fright Night is coming soon, along with some different posts to spice things up.
