The down side: The last three days of work have been awful. I've been stuck in the Mozart house, which is usually just boring because no one comes, but on Friday we had major drama. The counter-long glass case which houses the souveniers we try to sell broke--right in the hands of my coworker Inge and myself. Inge's hand was cut badly, but no one else was hurt, including the 20 or so French schoolkids in the museum, who generously offerered to clean up the glass pieces, and me, who automatically dropped everything and covered her face at the first crash. Later in the day, we had to set up tables with glasses and drinks for an evening event, and guess who dropped about 10 glasses????
Peaceful Interlude: Saturday and Sunday I went to Salzburg with Angi and Charles....
Monday I walked into the museum to find my other coworker, Günay, the other woman in charge of the museum, with cuts and banages all over her face...on Saturday night she had fallen in the museum while preparing for another event. She went home early, another woman had to come come in. Since then the two of us have been trying to run the museum as well as possible, but neither of us is an expert, especially with the cash register.
I may also have to pay 2-1/2 months rent in Burlington due to a misunderstanding with my future apartment-mate. That is the equivalent of at least one round trip to Germany. Not good news.
The good side: Charles is here, is an easy guest and excellent moral support. And is developing a quick tolerance for the 1-liter "Mass" of beer. Hee hee! My other friends here are awesome too.
