So the weekend finally came and I got to see Sex and the City twice. The first experience was not so great. First, I was by myself. It's all good to go to the movies alone. I want to do that more, but when I planned on going with someone who backed out last minute and also I'm in the theater surrounded by couples and groups of friends, it's bad. My first reaction is that it ran a little too long, and really, it didn't live up to the HUGE hype that Oprah promised it would. I don't know if I can ever trust Oprah again.
My second time I went with Alison. I liked it more, maybe because I was with a friend, maybe because I knew what to expect, but I am obsessed with the show all over again. I've been watching my DVDs, and if I don't feel like getting up to put in a DVD because I'm that lazy, I watch it OnDemand, or when it's on TV. I'm seeing it at least 2, maybe 3 more times in the next 2 weeks.
My niece is sleep in the other room. Where is my brother? In Cincy at an Asian festival with his friend. Okay, my brother isn't even Asian, and I know everyone is allowed at an Asian festival, but he didn't even go to the one that was here in Columbus like 2 weeks ago. He pisses me off the way he blows off his daughter sometimes. And this time was last minute. I never get to see him because he works 3 PM to midnight, so I'm thinking he would want to make this first weekend family time. And to make things worse, he wanted his daughter's mom to come get her before he left. The girl hadn't been over here more for 24 hours and he wanted her to drive all the way out her. She lives on the other side of town, and gas is pretty much $4 a gallon. So I said I'd watch her because I love spending time with her. We played with glitter and glue, which was really messy, but my brother will clean it when he gets here. Oh and my niece has 2 new song obsessions: Leona Lewis' "Bleeding Love" and whoever sings that "Slow ride, take it easy!" song. It's a song used on Guitar Hero and she sings it all the time. I love that kid!
I cannot believe June is here already. The year is already half way over. So far, it's been a pretty good one. Here's hoping the last half will be even better.
