(roughly) chronological crush meme- image heavy

stolen from cinnamon_sakaki, here are the males and the females (some fictional, some real life) who have captured my 20-year-old heart at some point over those last 20 years-

Aged about 7- Tim Curry in Muppet Treasure Island. THE classic 'what are these strange feelings that I am feeling?' moment from my childhood :O thankfully I no longer have a crush on this strange, strange creature- great singer, though.
an honourable mention from around this era also goes to Basil, the Great Mouse Detective. so, so glad that didn't prove to be a formative experience!

these two- aged about 11? for ever after my grandma bought me a buffyverse novelisation with a red cover (can't remember the name) set in Prague or somewhere in about 1800, which featured what my memory tells me was an obscene amount of sex involving biting, scratching, and everything that's good- in reality, i suspect my 11 year old self was rather scandalised and that the entire thing probably had about one sex scene in it (i remember more clearly trying quite desperately to avoid grandma for about a month in case she asked me what the book was about, i really was sick-makingly innocent (i crossed out swear words in library books!!)) i also remember experiencing months of inner fangirl torment as i weighed up the pro's and cons of angel vs spike, the former being very well-behaved and slightly cuddly, and the latter being skinny, punk and dangerous to know :P angel won in the end, by being deliciously bastardish, and long-haired, in a number of flashback sequences, but still giving buffy books as birthday presents <3 however, james marsters as capt. john in torchwood holds a special place in my heart, more than likely due to this-

aged about 13- dear, sweet mother of all that's holy :D

...*confused face* boys?

having...? and doing...? and then having....?

:O ..... :O ....... :O ...... :D ....*swoons*

and she never looked back!

I rented this movie on my first day of training at felixstowe library, so i must have been about 16, and certainly already harbouring a love for a particularly fey and drunken pirate :) anyone who has seen this film (it's The Libertine, by the way- a biopic-type movie about John Wilmot, Earl of Rochester, bloody filthy poet) will know that mr depp's appearance goes somewhat downhill around the halfway point :/ but that scene with his wife in the carriage, which should read like a freakin' mills and boon novel in theory, is still among the sexiest things i've ever seen committed to celluloid *swoons once more*
I can't remember his name, but i think i rented a film called stage beauty at about the same time, and was utterly entranced by the vunerable-cross-dresser of a male lead. i do love my job so :)

by now completely infatuated with my screwed-up-with-a-tough-exterior, model-skinny, but-punk-beautiful, greatest-friend-in-the-world-a-girl-could-have, pictured here-

(and now sadly nowhere half so cool as she used to be aged 16, sigh- that's what getting a boyfriend who's a lazy, conservative pain-in-the-arse will do to a girl, apparently- i'm no way bitter in any shape or form, i promise :P)

- my tastes turned to other things, namely-

Brody Dalle,

and

Asia Argento, and

Cate Blanchett, and

Maggie Gyllenhaal (that picture does wrong things to me)

and

Dita Von Teese

before I got turned back around to this beautiful creature-

aged about 18, by way of a vhs tape we stole from hannah's auntie bridie. since then, my favours have been directed towards Kat Von D-

Robert Pattinson (i know, i know, but he's so shy, and brooding (oh, the brooding) and he films a darn fine gay sex scene even with a fake mustache!)

Cynthia Ettinger- god, this one confused me! (the other recent 'what the fuck, this is so anti-my-type, why-am-i-turned-on?' nominee would be James Purefoy)

and, unfailingly, Russell Brand- a veritable god amongst men, even if he does act like a bit of a prick for much of the time-

however, my favourites (this week) would have to be ben barnes-

or, if we're talking fictional :P george koizumi (who is pretty much interchangeable with johnathan rhys meyers, being as how his visual style is based entirely on brian slade)

both nana osaki and ren honjo-

with takumi in there as well- because i can't resist a heartless bastard-

i might come back and add to this list and tidy it up a little, but i think the lesson to be learned here is, it's not right for a woman to read :P
