Grammar
Next semester I'm planning on teaching my students grammar (*gasp*) starting in the first week of school with a sort of intensive summary of how grammar works. Parts of speech, recognizing which nouns, verbs or adjectives modifiers are modifying, that sort of thing. I'm thinking that sentence diagramming might be a fun (for me) way to go about it. Any input? Ways people learned grammar that worked for them? I want something that I can go over relatively quickly in class spread over a couple of class periods with other stuff going on as well, and then be able to help students with during office hours if they're having trouble.
Delia- any suggestions about good books on diagramming? It would be great to find something I could put on an overhead.
