Pretending

Most people have their own character that they wanted to be. A personality not of their own, but they tried to be one just to say that they "belong". What does it really mean to belong? Why do most people wanted to belong? Did they not like the way they are? Belonging to something or someone does not imply that because of that we can be a complete person. A person who is not himself, a person who is not happy, a person who lives in lies, a person being blinded by the fact that he can become a person who he is not.

Most of the time, those who pretend are the most hurt at the end. Why? Because I think being someone you are not, is very tiring. What if the people whom you thought you belonged to know the truth behind your pretentious acts, will they continue to be by your side, will they easily let it go as if nothing happened? I think both questions can be answered by no. The fact that you lied to them simply means that you really are not truthful with the way you act with them, with the way you become their comrades, with the feelings you've shared with them, with the precious time you've spend with them, and many other things. You do the things that you do because you think that would please them and that would make you remain in the place where you are. But in the end, are you really happy because they liked you not being the way you really are?

I cannot remove the fact that, sometimes lying can be of a way for people to experience something different and that also can be of a lesson to make us understand the meaning of being happy as our true selves. Also, people are not perfect they wanted to become another person because they did not see that characteristics within them. But people change, they learned from past experiences and used it to continue and move forward. Isn't it happier if people accept you for who you really are and not someone that you just pretended to be?

No matter what the circumstances are, and how it changes, if you can be yourself you can do anything. ^_^
