I must be crazy.
I've got an English exam on Monday. (And a Physics one too, but that's irrelevant.) English exam = the perfect excuse to read and write fic - start reading a few of those L&C masterpieces I shamelessly haven't read in my three years of being a FoLC, continue working on the sequel to The Journey Of The Phoenix, or maybe read and write a bit for
rt_challenge.
What am I doing instead? The most logical, reasonable thing possible. Exactly what you would expect someone who's preparing for an English exam to do.
I'M TRANSLATING THE NOVEL VERSION OF 'LA MENTIRA' FROM SPANISH TO GREEK.
Somebody please shoot me.
'La Mentira', you see, is based on a novel Caridad Bravo Adams wrote in 1952. I found it online a couple of weeks ago and saved it in my computer, then thought I wouldn't read it until I was done watching all the episodes. But yesterday I couldn't help myself and started reading it. Got down to reading one third of it, then as the wedding approached (of which I'd seen the dubbed version but hadn't downloaded the original episode yet) I thought it would be better to leave it for the moment. Today I really, really felt like reading more, but I couldn't find it in myself to move on further to the novel before watching the episodes (which is funny, given how I usually prefer the books to the movies/TV series - but this time I'd already started the TV series first so it's not the same thing). So, to stop myself from going further, I took it FROM THE BEGINNING and started translating.
I'm babbling. And I'm crazy. Why haven't you shot me yet?
I could at least have chosen to translate something from English but Noooo! I had to fall head-over-heels *right now* for a "fandom" that's created in *Spanish*.
Life's unfair.
D'you think I could find someone to publish it, once I'm done with it? Granted, I'm doing it for pleasure, but I might as well gain something.
See ya,
Anna.
