Updates
I don't know who all I've told what but here goes the latest news.
Family:
My Dad's cancer came back. It still hasn't spread outside of his bladder as far as they can tell, but the fact that it's back is still very bad. He's taking thalidomide, you know, the stuff that made babies be born without limbs. The side affects are kind of kicking his butt, but it could be worse. No idea how long he'll be on it, they'll see how it goes.
My mom is having cataract surgery Tuesday.
My parents just bought a townhouse in Savannah. They're planning on buying another one near Matthew and me in a few years when we figure out where we're living, and then selling the house.
Married life:
Matthew's doing really well in school. He's doing an independent study thing this summer with one of his professors and he'll be helping research and write two papers that are going to be published in law journals. That's really good.
Matthew's doctor recommended that we raise the head of our bed six inches off the ground to help with his heartburn problems. I'm not looking forward to sleeping like a Minbari.
Next weekend there's a ball for the law school. I get to dress up and go to a dinner/dance thing. I feel like a big dork but I'm really excited.
Hannah's in an advanced reading group thing in kindergarten. She's really proud of herself. They give her extra books to read. And, she's *really* into video games. She picked up Children of Mana and started playing through it on her own on the gameboy the other day. It's going to be funny if she's a smart, blonde, gamer geek someday.
Work:
is the same as always. Although, my boss said he could introduce Matthew to his friend, who just happens to also be the head of a HUGE law firm with offices all over the country. That'd be pretty cool.
That's about all that's new lately. I'm very tired so I'm going to bed now.
