Monday morning

Heading off to Greensboro to pay a visit to my in-laws. Giving the parents a computer tutorial, giving my sis-in-law a hair cut, and running some errands for my bed-ridden bro-in-law.

Had a nice weekend. Himself and I both went swimming in the indoor pool yesterday afternoon. I enjoyed the conclusion of Samurai Girl. Yes, they left it open for a possible series, as she discovers her old nemesis is NOT DEAD YET! Her sword is called the Whisper of Death, which I think is a great name for a sword!

Hanna died out before she did any damage, although we did get a lot of rain over Friday night and our usual Saturday morning trip to the farmers market was rained out. Lovely day today.

I found a new book by Philip Pullman at the library on Saturday. Called Once Upon a Time in the North, it's a new element in the His Dark Materials universe. A charming little hardback, with illustrations, "photos" of documents, and even a board game folded into a pocket inside the back cover. He put out a similar little volume a few years ago called Lyra's Oxford, which was a postquel to the main series. This one is a prequel describing how Lee Scoresby met Iorek the polar bear.
