gardner museum

so yesterday i took myself on the self-guided tour of the gardner museum as was my homework for my architectural and furniture history class. i was asked a bunch of questions about pieces of furniture there- dating them, guessing at what country they came from, giving proper names, etc. it was a really amazing way to go around the museum. i ( Read more... )

so so right. henri viii. i've been all renaissance focused so there has been a lot of louis xiii from france. dang in-head mix ups.

That is a crazy museum- nothing else like it. Next time I'm in Boston I should go back and poke about. :) It's like an old lady's attic because it kindof is- when you're an old lady who can say "I'd like part of that Italian cathedral shipped to my house please".

The other one that gets me is the Peabody museum. Have you every been there? Such a classical Victorian science museum. The vast collection of glass botany models are incredible.
