i just read the article in the paper about mrhs graduation.
chris had called and told me about kareem's speech, but didnt really go into much detail. but after reading the article, i realized what a rude and ungrateful move it was.
kareem didn't get into Princeton because he attended the "hollow halls" of mainland. honestly, it was probably the exact opposite.
most certainly the extracurriculars he would have had to be involved in in order to gain acceptance to an ivy were supervised by teachers who give up their time so these activities could exist.
another certainty would be kareem's need for teacher (and maybe b/c of the ivy status...i'm not really sure) administrative recommendations. i'm glad he spit in the faces of the
teacher(s) who took the time to write letters for him.
kareem sure had school spirit when he ran for class president.
and as all of you nhs members will recall kareem ran for nhs president and lost because in that speech he said he was only running so he could put it on his resume. sure didnt sound like he cared about the betterment of society then.
in the words of stephanie tanner (not a philosopher, but still someone i learned a lot from OUTSIDE of mainland) HOW RUDE.
