why, hello there.

Alas, behold the product of a week of boredom and disability.  I missed this semi-public forum of expression. Yay for being an attention whore!

Anyway.

Yesterday Anne and I celebrated my return to civilization by having lunch at Isabella's,  where young Daniel works.  We also visted Jun at Barnes & Noble, which I used as a convenient excuse to abuse her employee discount.  I bought Ask Me Anything, by Francesca Delbanco (my treat of a silly girly book), and Love in the Time of Cholera, by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.  Yeah, books really are my downfall.  Great food, lovely company, and some pleasant wandering of Manhattan streets later, I really started to wonder how within a few weeks I'll leave this city again for three months when I went through such withdrawal after just a few days.  I think my normally insane tendency to become overly attached to people and places has reached frightening new heights with the island of Manhattan.  Thanks, Bumblefuck Chicago.  September 13th will be a saaad day.

Finally, my cousin visited yesterday with her family.  I spent the night watching Shrek 2 with my absolutely gorgeous five-year-old niece whom I haven't seen for two years, and oh man, oh man, was it fun.  After living for eternity with those bastards upstairs (Hah, the other day someone finally got tired of their screaming and called the police claiming the little devils were being abused.  It wasn't me, I swear), I forgot that kids can be darn lovable.  Now all of a sudden I wanna spend my time buying her Calvin and Hobbes books and knitting her scarves and thinking of other awesome ways I can be a part of the rest of her life.  How such a sweet, well-adjusted child popped out within my family I'll never understand, but hell, is it awesome.
