long awaited post
Wow… it’s been a long long time since I last wrote. So busy, so very busy.
Yesterday I took a mental health/me day to just have time to slow down. I’ve been running full steam and I’m finding that the ground is starting to slip under my feet. I haven’t been sleeping well and I’m waking up tired… more because I’ve been having crazy dreams than a lack of shut eye. This is never a good way to approach a busy time of year. Sleep is good. Quality sleep is soooo very nice!
Anyhue, Work is going well. I had a mild upset last week which somehow solved itself. Cool. Discovery Centre is having a hard time of it though. We had to close three days last week because a pipe burst over the third floor and released about 10,000 liters of water over the back half of the building. The third floor was up to three inches in water at some points! Water also has this marvelous ability of soaking into almost everything. When you walked up to the second floor it sounded like rain! Oi! Anyways, after sweeping the water down the emergency exit for three hours, we moved the bulk of it out of the way. What a mess.
My mother also has been down to visit. We had a really nice time together and I’m glad that she stayed with me for the four days of her conference.
Tonight is the second of five practices for Messiah. Oh my dear lord! I am soooo sooo very scared of this piece. Everyone else seems to have sung it before and I’m just flailing around trying not to mess anyone else up. I’ve been practicing on my own for several hours each week, but practice time and actually performance time are two very very different things!
