Hold on, I'm trying to be constructive....
I just. EVERYTHING is wonderful. I love the idea of Merlin's magic being so single-minded, not something that just gets used for everyday, trivial things, but something that is so directed and focused.
I loved the characters!
Merlin is as funny and sweet and slight ridiculous as I always want. The scene when he is running late for the interview and gets "attacked" by the dog is perfection.
Arthur is the Arthur of my heart! So determined and charming, but also an ass. I love it. The way he is with his fans :D :D Want to hug him so hard all the time.
Gwaine is so fabulous! Sticking up for Merlin, all of his "peasant" talk, being so cute with Elena and their all-night chat.
Your Gaius is spot on, for me. It's very rare that I hear Gaius in my head when I'm reading, but he was right their, with his Eyebrow, calling Merlin an idiot.
All of the supporting players are just wonderful. I really enjoy all of the men being silly and playful, and the women being so fierce and funny. :)
Favorite bits:
When Merlin comments that "There had to be some sort of aesthetic requirement to play for the club, like an "anyone who wouldn't look equally good modelling men's underwear need not apply". SO TRUE. Everyone on that team/around that table just gah.
When Merlin stands up for himself after the fight and says, "I am not a coward, and I won't have anyone treat me like I'm worthless." YES. This is my Merlin!
Oh god, when they fell asleep on the couch. *happy sigh*
I love when Merlin is comforting Arthur after his injury. ♥__♥ Just their connection is so deep and dear, with Merlin's magic even being heightened.
I was so upset for both of them when Arthur doubted that his feelings for Merlin were his own and not due to magic.
