Note to self: stay away from Buffy novels

Jul 17, 2006 08:25

I just read the following in an amazon review for the Buffy novel Queen of Slayers, which is reported to be the unofficially-official continuation of the series:

I don't know if I should spoil it for anyone who hasn't read the book, but I would advise not to read any way...what the heck...here it is...we all get to see/hear about Angel and Spike's combined love child with Buffy who comes and holds it palms over Buffy's head to save the world from the "Queen of Slayers" (I won't even go there!!!), soooo ridiculous!

What?! *headdesk* does not even begin to cover it. Someone please tell me this is a joke? Because if it’s not… then Buffy beats Star Wars hands down for most f-ed up expanded universe. Seriously, why not just toss in a little m-preg to round out the cheesy fanfic plot device? Spike can be the one to birth the miracle baby (without staking himself of course) and then he, Angel, and Buffy can live happily as an OT3 with the occasional kinky visit from Faith and a partially vamped Willow. Oh and the miracle child will begin a torrid love affair with Xander, who is really a boy slayer and Connor’s true biological father. *gag*

ranting, btvs/ats
