My state has no money. That’s the long and short of it. For the past few months, Jenny from the Block (aka: Governor Jennifer Granholm) and the state legislature have been bickering over whether to raise taxes or make budget cuts to compensate for the lack of funds. Well, you know they're going to raise taxes before even thinking about a pay cut. They can't help sticking it to the little guy. They already pretty much agreed that they were going to raise income taxes (talk about a tax jack), and to tax services that were exempt before. Some of the services include tanning services, landscaping, and... damn I can't remember the others. Jenny that smokes a lot of rock also granted the state legislature a 30 day extension to finalize the budget.

I'm wondering how we acquired a $1.75 billion dollar deficit to begin with! We voted these people in to change Michigan for the better, not to ill-manage our money and use it as their own personal piggy bank. We didn't vote Granholm in to bring in Canada's garbage either, but she still approves of it even though she's filling up our landfills and selling the water right out of our great lakes to other states... I'll stop now because we all know how I feel about the government to begin with. I don't want to have the rage this early in the morning.

We live here because no matter how bad things are politically, we still like our state.
