Exhibition : Mme Grès, musée Bourdelle, Paris - up to Aug. 28, 2011
The exhibition is set in the Musée Bourdelle, once home and workshop of sculptor Antoine Bourdelle. A gorgeous setting for a fashion designer who said she wanted to be a sculptor, and that for her, it's the same thing to work fabric or stone.
Truth be told, her dresses are intemporal and pure like moving statues.

Mme Grès (her real name was Germaine Krebs) was already famous for her models when she was designing for the Alix maison de couture in 1933.
She's especially known for her elaborated plissés like here.

The scenography was interesting (though sometimes too dark for pictures).
Even out of her usual plissés, she was able to design striking silhouettes.

How can you not be in awe of a cut so fine, so precise and so beautiful?
