I love everything this episode chooses to be. I seriously love everything about it.

Doctor and Rose in the beginning of the episode. So precious. They are completely in sync here. This is the ep where it hit me (what Jackie will also notice in Army Of Ghosts) just how much she really is beginning to look like him, act like him. Ten even acklowledges her as his equal in the end - stuff of legends - not just him, but them together.

The fact that the Doctor is challenged in a way he never was before. He is up against something he never thought could even exist. Something that defies his own belief in time, space and the universe itself.
"Before time and light and space and matter. Before the cataclysm. Before this universe was created."
"That’s impossible. No life could have existed back then."
"Is that your religion?"
"It’s a belief."
I always enjoy the Doctors fascination with humans, but especially in this episode, where he's again blown away by our need to investigate no matter what - much like him. And then he just randomly hugs people. :D
"When it comes right down to it, why did you come here? Why did you do that, why? I'll tell you why. (pauses) Because it was there. Brilliant!"

Then there is Rose. My gorgeous, awsome, fierce gurl. :D She was fantastic here. Curious, inquistive, observing (especially with the Ood - foreshadowing), heroic (and on a shallow note, completely beautiful). She took charge when she needed to. And acted like a total BAMF to get rid of freaking Satan that was sitting next to her. Much like the Doctor would. His faith in her in this episode just blew me away. And let's not forget her faith in him - the reason she wouldn't leave him alone in the pit. They believe in each other.

Which brings me to - yes - the shippiness of the episodes. ♥ It is all over the place and I loooove it.

And let me take a minute to appreciate the wonderful colors and effects in this episode. From the lighting and the set itself to the effects of the black hole and the beast and that woman that gets killed - when she is just floating away. Just wonderfuly done.

Oh, and lets not forget the story - the Beast!

This completely blew me away. I love the story behind it, I'm a sucker for mythology stories. The how it got cought there and I love the creepy factor this episode brings. Toby was totally creepy with hose symbols painted on his face.
"Hang on though, Doctor. You never really said. You two. Who are you?"
"Oh… (shares a look with Rose) The stuff of legend!"
