I MET... DAVID VILLA!
Today I met David Villa! He is playing for Melbourne City in Australia and my friends and I waited for 2.5 hours in 27 degree heat to see him. And boy, was it worth it!
He signed my jersey, I got a photo and I spoke (quite terrible) Spanish to him haha. My brother asked him who the best defender he had ever played with or against was. He said Puyol. (His answer was heartwarming and you could see the respect for his ex-teammate in his expression...yayayayay PUYOL!)
David was quiet, shy but friendly, and he stayed much longer than he was supposed to just to make sure most of the fans got to say hello. I felt a little sorry for him because he seemed overwhelmed by all the English and even a little nervous. Thankfully, he seemed to appreciate my attempted Spanish haha.
