Richard Florida....makes me think!
Being a strong woman...a creative woman, doesnt seem to be worth much in this city, they say that the key to keeping young people in cities is to offer support, not so much financially, but allow there to be room for free expression and the ability to use their creativeness. Instead of looking at this fact, omaha is building more and more to bring more of corporate america to this midwestern metropolis, and expect that we, young people, are going to stay here because there are jobs available.
lets face it. omaha is boring for people. the only creative outlet thats easily accessible is the local music scene. I dont want to stay here because, i see no future for my talents or the kind of thing i want to do, whether im solely an artist or have a career in something else, in omaha.
I think i'd like to move to the sun belt...or perhaps new york.
