So when I updated a couple days ago Carrie Fisher was still alive. Given the circumstances of her massive heart attack on board the plane, I guess I should have known her chances of survival were not at all good. Still, I hoped for better news, and it's heartbreaking. :(

I've been amassing a stockpile of books to be read, even more so than usual, as if I'm getting ready to hunker down for Armageddon, because, well, reasons.

Related to books, it appears Richard Adams, the author of Watership Down, died yesterday too. He was 96, so a good long life. But it adds to the increasingly long tally of 2016's celeb/icon deaths. It's as if the Grim Reaper was trying to win a prize this year.
