The storm front that was supposed to come through today is finally knocking on our door with clouds and sprinkles. I don't know how nasty it's supposed to get tonight, but right now it's warm and muggy, and giving me a sinus headache. Tomorrow is supposed to be dry and cooler - we'll see.
I got up early this morning to hit the open air mall down the road from me because I had to get a stocking stuffer to replace something I bought The Boy at the USF bookstore in San Francisco that turned out to be the wrong size. *aaarrrggghhh*!
I did this once before three or four years ago, and I remembered being panicked and getting up super early to hit the mall around 8 am - and happily finding out that not only were all the stores open, but there was almost no one shopping at that time. So I was fairly confident the same would happen today. Again I got up early, hit the mall by 8:30 am, and it was a breeze. Got in and out of several stores with no problem, ended up picking up a little more than I needed, and got out of there before 10 am. I would have gotten out even earlier, but I needed to go to the credit union which doesn't open until 10 am. So I had to kill some time by going to Barnes and Noble and getting a drink and a cookie at the Starbucks.
I got to the bank just before it opened, then went from there to The Girl Child's bank to deposit money, and was home before 10:30 am. Can't complain at all.
That was the good luck. The bad luck came yesterday when The Spousal Unit had to take the little Scottie into the vet because he had an ear infection. So we've had two animals with infections in a week. Another $200 out of pocket. What are you going to do? We want the little boy to be feeling good for Santa's arrival.
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, however you like to say it and celebrate it!
