Super belated post - it was going to be an overall catch-up post on the state of me, but I'm going to do something I haven't done in probably two years, and that's discuss an episode of Supernatural. Shocking, I know.

The Spousal Unit and I did watch the finale last night - well, after we watched the Grimm season finale, which was kick-ass and a ( Read more... )

Let's hope Carver doesn't screw with the potential awesome stuff he has to work with, as Gamble did...

*fingers and toes crossed* I really hope that many of the problems we had with Gamble in the mix go bye-bye with her leaving. Foremost, there's no reason Carver should be the same blatantly one-sided fangirl Sera was, or have the same resentments she did toward Jensen and his character.

I don't know how unhappy Jared really was - after all, he was getting all the storyline, including his co-star's old (and only) storyline, and he was being pimped as if he was the sole lead for two seasons.

Jensen wasn't happy in S6, and even in S7 he didn't seem to know whether his character had a story - and lo and behold, he didn't, again. Though at the Burbank con he was acting really confident, and I now figure they all knew by that time that Gamble was leaving.

Though he was even more confident before that in deciding to change lines in scripts that weren't working, for instance.

So it sounds like the stage was set for her to leave. I just hope she was the biggest problem. Singer and Edlund certainly didn't step up WRT bad storyline this year; but I assume Edlund just didn't care anymore, and Singer was still willing to go along with whatever hairbrained idea Gamble came up with because coming up with storyline wasn't and isn't his arena.

Therefore, I hope with someone in charge who may have better and less one-sided ideas, everything will simply flow more smoothly. At least we know Jensen was planning on talking to Carver after the upfronts, and I don't think any of the producers talked to him about storyline last year ('cuz he didn't have one, again). So that's one positive step, I think.
