Under the wire

Squeaking by with a post before the end of the week and the big Festivus Day. I started cooking last night (cookies) and won't stop until dinner tomorrow (prep work today). Last night I made a list of things to do today so I wouldn't forget anything, and I think I've done a pretty good job getting it checked off one by one. There are still a few things on my list to do, but I haven't been killing myself today either. Trying to enjoy the day as much as possible, though I'm not loving the record-breaking heat like we had yesterday. Yeah, yeah, I know it could be worse - but, come on, even here in Florida we should not be seeing temps close to freaking 90-degrees. Bah humbug! Just more evidence that this state IS the Hellmouth (as if our Governor and Casey Anthony and the variety of fundamentalist nutjobs who keep popping up hadn't clued you in by now).

We were jonesing for something easy and anti-holiday food'ish for tonight, but unfortunately all our fav Italian haunts are closed today. Luckily Pizza Hut was delivering until 8 pm. The delivery boy got a big holiday tip.

Yesterday The Spousal Unit and I saw the Sherlock Holmes flick, and I've got to say that I honestly thought the sequel was better than the first movie. Maybe a lot better considering I can't even recall the plot of the first flick; and even though I loved Downey and Law in their respective roles the first time around, I thought the original movie dragged (which probably accounts for why the plot is so unmemorable for me). Anyway, two thumbs up.

I've got to remember to set the dvr for the Doctor Who Christmas special airing tomorrow night since The Sibling will be here and I probably won't get to sit down and enjoy it. Hm, didn't have it on my list. Luckily I remembered just now. ;)

Just a quick update to say however and whatever you celebrate, I wish you and yours a wonderful and as stress-free a holiday as one can have with family. ;)
