I spent all day yesterday finally packing up the inside holiday decorations. We got the outside lights and lawn ornaments, and the tree, all taken down last weekend. But I dragged my feet all week in packing up the inside, mostly because it's just a lot of work and I didn't feel like doing it, plain and simple.
The Spousal Unit had to attend a funeral for a co-worker's husband yesterday morning. I went to the viewing with him on Friday night - very sad. Then he drove up to Gainesville to attend the Gator basketball game with his brother while I was immersed in bins and holiday decor. But when it was all packed away I got that feeling of a job ... well, done. Then I spent the rest of the evening reading and flipping around the news channels to get the latest updates on the horrific Arizona shooting.
Others have said it better and more in-depth than I, but I will say that voters who supported any of the extremist candidates who espouse the "Second Amendment Remedy" and violent rhetoric against those who simply do not share their political views share responsibility for this tragedy. Sarah Palin tops the list of the guilty.
I fear the state in which I live is heading in the exact same direction as Arizona. This country is broken.
