A bit of holiday spirit
The Girl Child used her Universal pass privileges so she and The Spousal Unit could hit a few of the rides and treat me to a birthday lunch at Mythos today, which was lovely. We did a little Christmas shopping too on TGC's "winter bash" 50% off discount (woo-hoo!).
While I'm not a Harry Potter fan, I do have to admit that the new Harry Potter park is pretty cool.
The only downside was having to drag out of bed at 0'dark:thirty to get there when the park opened. Next year, guys, mama wants to spend her birthday sleeping in. ;)
gatorpez is supposed to stop by tonight so we can watch/commiserate our way through the last Supernatural of the season before the winter hiatus. Gotta say, I'm looking forward to the break more than anything else. I'm still recording the episodes for vala3, but a couple weeks ago I realized I had no interest in going back and watching the episodes after the first viewing. I used to like to repeatedly watch at least certain favorite parts of each episode several times throughout the week, much to TSU's annoyance. ;) But favorite scenes are fewer and further between, and now I'm not bothering at all anymore. I'd really hate to lose all the love or complete interest before the February con. This is supposed to be my happy fandom. :( *sigh*
In the meantime, the show may not be bringing me much joy anymore, but this Advent Calendar that I saw rec'ed a few days ago sure is. Awwwwwww. ;D No matter what, this fandom sure boasts a lot of talent.
The holiday specials of Eureka and Warehouse 13 that aired this week also made me very happy with a well-played dose of holiday spirit. They've been repeating at various times throughout the week, and every time I run into a replay, I watch it again like they're already Christmas classics. Good job on the part of both series. :)
Anyway, I'd better clean up a bit before gatorpez gets here.
