Oh, Joe!

My god, is it really August already? And did I really only post four times last month? Oy, I guess I should be happy I could post that much. No light at the end of this crap tunnel I'm in the middle of yet - but maybe things will begin to lighten up just a little somewhere 'round fall'ish? Maybe. Hope springs eternal.

On the upside, it's Joe Flanigan Day today! On Warehouse 13, that is. ;) And, crap, I have to dvr the episode because I won't be at home and in front of the tube between 9-10 pm, as it so happens. Then again, that's how I watched SGA for most of the last couple of seasons. And too, having the episode recorded to the dvr means I can watch Joe several times in the next few days. ;D

I kinda like Warehouse 13 too. It got off to a slow, boring start with it's unnecessarily bloated Pilot episode; but I thought the story-writing picked up a lot beginning with the second episode. Each subsequent episode has been a little more interesting than the last, which is always a good sign. I enjoy the Mulder/Scully-lite leads too. They have good partnering chemistry with each other, they're both fun and witty, and I think the relationship and the show in general has potential. CCH Pounder as a recurring character with a mysterious past instantly bumps up the quality control - and Saul Rubinek is always a delight in anything he shows up in. So once you add Pounder and Rubinek to the mix, ain't no bad there.

Overall I think Warehouse 13 is much like Eureka in that the characters are highly likable, and the show in general is just light-hearted and fun. Also, like Eureka, there is an overarching storyline running through this first season that keeps you just interested enough to watch the hour rather than playing it as background reading noise. It's no Battlestar Galactica - but, then again, nothing really is, and besides, you don't want too many of those on the air at the same time. Too mentally draining! ;) All in all, thumbs up from me for Warehouse 13.

I keep forgetting to point out that I have more Dreamwidth invites, if anyone out there wants one or knows someone who wants one. I really can't use all these myself, folks. I still haven't done anything with the second DW blog I set up, short of uploading an initial post. *ack*

Anyone? Bueller ... Bueller ...
