I haven't seen Epiphany yet. I am verklempt. Hopefully this week, though. Some of the commentary on this episode left me more than a little confused so far, I must admit. Like, "was John Sheppard even in this episode?" confused. I'm just saying. *sigh*
I have been very confused about some of the commentary I've read, too. In my mind, it's a total Shepfest. Honestly? I have no idea what those other people are talking about. Rodney has some nice moments, but it's John's show all the way. I think there are some really, really intense McKay fans out there, and maybe that's coloring their viewing? ::shrug::
Have you read hth_the_first's commentary about Epiphany? It's awesome, and includes a paragraphs-long look into John's character that I found absolutely fascinating. She also loves Ronon, so there's a lot of lovely Rononsquee, which makes me happy. It might help salve some of those unhappy feelings you've got.

Oh, believe me, I know the McKay fans are the dominant force in this fandom; and while left to his own devices on the show, I can appreciate McKay with his all too numerous flaws, the fandom is rapidly souring me on his character, and I hate it when that happens. *sigh*

I had a chance to yesterday, and while I'll never agree with her take on the Ronon/McKay interaction, at all, I do agree that she had some marvelous insight into the man who is John Sheppard. She had good stuff to say about Ronon and Teyla too, so that review was a bit of a reprieve. :)
I already told you the new layout gives me joy, but I'd understand if you felt its life was short-lived. You're the one who has to look at it everyday, but it made me happy. *g*
and I'm a little confused if it's supposed to be 10 things you don't know about me, 10 things you do know about me, or just 10 things about me, period.
I think it's supposed to be 10 things we should all know about you, since we're reading your LJ, but I've seen it done every which way. I kind of enjoy the 10 things we don't know angle best. ;)

You know, I was thinking last night, I could send you the episode through yousendit. You've got a high-speed connection, right? You wouldn't need any special program to download it, and it will play right in your installed media player. That way you can tell me your impressions, since everyone else's out there are so..... Sorry, coughing fit setting in. ;)
I think it's obvious that Mr. Eko is to Locke as Jack is to Ana Lucia, and

LOL! Well, it is merry, I admit that. But it's also LOUD! *snerk* I like it right now. If it starts to make me nauseous at some point, we'll see. ;)

I'll let you know if the disc arrives today. I'm supposed to have a high-speed connection, but the problem with cable is that your speed is dependent upon how many people are using the network at any given time.
After watching the entire series, I was struck by the feeling that....it really wasn't as good as I remembered it being, though the best things about it still lived up to my recollection: Lucas; Ben; Caleb; the general creeping malevolence and shifting certitudes. I have to pretty much agree with your assessment, though the things you list that are good about it were more than enough to sustain me. But after watching the entire series in the order in which it's supposed to be viewed, I

Yay! I like finding other folks who are sticking with this show. :)
Clemmons knows VM to be a good asset and VM's dad is someone you have to really work to fool. And the small side characters like the defense attorney for the broke also have a few tricks up their sleeves.
I LOVE the defense attorney! It's always fun when he returns, especially because he's very self aware of his own strengths and especially his weaknesses. And I also love how the adults are not unaware of how smart Veronica is and don't just dismiss because she's a teenager.
I always thought Trina was Logan's half-sister too since I thought it was indicated that Logan's mother was Aaron's second wife. I have to rewatch those episodes and pay attention to what they say about Trina.

Mostly I think I just need to see it for myself!
