New Year's dinner from Chef Kevin, pork, potatoes, red-cabbage sauerkraut, and sweet greens with bacon.  Two meals' worth.  For an hour you would never believe I've been having trouble eating for months.  No sharing with cat., who quite likes pork  Very full!

Re-read Synedochic's "Freedom's Just Another Word for Nothing Left to Lose," which is SG-1 fan literature.  Heartbreaking.  I always quit analyzing the structure of the story and get caught up in this difficult man's life.  The parenthetical paragraphs tell, like haiku, the end of Shepard, and Atlantis, but they thread through the story like references to Rodney's shattered wristbones, and his recognition of his future spiraling ahead of him, and that he is, surprisingly, happy.  But the stone in Arlington gets me, every time, like the dogtags and why he keeps his arms skills in top form.
