First Line Meme

Taken from everyone: Post the first lines from your last 20 stories. Do you see any patterns? For me, it's 1) a heavy reliance on declarative sentences and 2) an unhealthy fixation on Brad Crawford from Weiss Kreuz.

Farfarello usually works alone, but in a firefight he prefers to work with Schuldig.

It’s no secret that Yohji Kudou is a ladies man.

You laugh at yourself now, remembering the first day you met Fuji, remembering how you felt absolutely nothing for the slight, smiling boy running laps around the court.

It’s tough being sixteen.

Tezuka Kunimitsu was a successful professional tennis player, and a dissatisfied young man.

Farfarello the Scarecrow wasn’t lacking in smarts; “If I only had a brain!” took on new meaning as he slaughtered terrified munchkins.

Neither Nagi nor Farfarello bothered to hide their surprise when an alert, smiling Schuldig sauntered into the kitchen shortly before nine in the morning, giving both teammates a cheerful greeting while raiding the refrigerator.

Tezuka is quiet, oh, so quiet.

Kakashi would have kicked himself for his naiveté, if only he were able to move.

Yohji Kudou stares at the mirror, glancing at his clothes.

It started, as most stories do in their line of work, with a few deaths.

“Let’s watch Velvet Goldmine!”

Light doesn’t like this voice whispering in his mind.

Schuldig uses his camera more than his gun, and to better effect.

Crawford ‘saw’ it too late: their plane wouldn’t land for hours.

The restaurant located within Takatori Tower was expensive, but well worth the price.

Crawford’s precognitive abilities allow him to escape major calamities - death, capture by Estet, Schuldig’s cooking - so often, he forgets to worry about the small stuff.

Brad Crawford is a proud, self-possessed man.

Sometimes Crawford is such a bastard.

“Ku-ra-foo-dou,” Takatori Masafumi sneered, “there is no point in negotiations.”
