So... it's my first photoshop colouring. I guess it shows. Also, almost 95% of it was done using a mouse. I appear to be a tablet cripple.
I know there are mistakes in the drawing itself. A LOT of them. But I could really do with a feedback concerning colouring, shading and everything PS related. I want to know if there is a hope for me.

Basically, I agree with everything you pointed out.
I know Light's hair leaves A LOT to be desired, but I'm thankful for putting your finger on the exact place where it seems the most off. Whereas L's hair was relatively easy to colour and shade, Light's hair turned out to be a sheer nightmare (for someone who uses a mouse, at least). I guess I'll have to acquaint myself more with my tablet, because our co-operation hasn't been very fruitful so far ;). Stroking Light's every single hair with a tablet pen should be more effective than smudging the colours with a mouse. Or at least I hope so ;)
When it comes to Light's face... I admit that I've never been good at facial expressions and honestly, it's the first time I've ever drawn a proper eye xD I always tend to draw people with their faces covered with hair so I don't have to toil over drawing such awkward expressions, but this time I decided to take the bull by the horns and this is the outcome xD
You're right - his face looks too bland and inexpressive but it only shows how much I've got yet to learn. And I'm going to work on it for sure.
I'm supposed to tell you to shove off? You're kidding? ;) I'm grateful for such a wonderful feedback. You've been really helpful! I'm always happy to hear an objective opinion and people who are able to give such well-formulated concrit are really hard to find ^^
