Kili was very pretty indeed :)
I liked what they had done with the source material, and how they had expanded it. It wasn't a very film-like film, more a series of episodes with gorgeous surroundings, but I like it that way. It's been years since I've last read the book, well over a decade even, but that's how I remember it being. Plus the pretty :) I deem it a good adaptation, bonus points for Peter Jackson. I was a bit disturbed by how Elrond had lost all the grey from his hair, though - he may be only a half-elf, but sixty years still wouldn't be all that much for him. Gandalf looked older than in the previous films, which was quite understandable, and old Bilbo for some reason looked younger than I remember him from the Fellowship of the Ring, but that's how these things go sometimes. There were more familiar faces than I expected, actually, it was nice to see them again. It's been almost a week since I last saw the Return of the King, after all ;) I also realized I've never got around to reading my fancy English version of the Hobbit, only two different Finnish translations. Those both always felt rather too childish for my tastes (and I was a child at the time), but I'll probably like it much better in English. I was already positively surprised by some particular words and phrases in this film, a lot less childish indeed. Now I only have to find some time...
I'm glad we went to see this film while it was still in the big room :)
