[Player Name] Tarei
[@ Elegy] Anise Tatlin childishanise

[Series] Original Canon
[Character] Tarei Kamiya, The Black Butterfly
[Description] Tarei is fairly moderate height female with a petite build. Long locks of raven black hair cascade down her lower back almost past her butt, and alluring cerulean blue hues. She has a pale complexion in almost like an ill person, with rosy pink tints in her skin. She often is seen dressed in rather comfortable or baggy clothes, with a sword sash where she always seemed to keep her sword.

The sword is a weapon that she carries with her throughout most of her journeys, and often never seen without it. For the most part, she appears to be a harmless, and petite, innocent girl who has rather weak arms and legs. She also appears as though she isn't capable of defending herself, when in reality she is quite capable.

[Personality]
An often calm and composed person, she carries knowledge wherever she goes with quick stealth and slyness. She is often quite anti-social and does not like to strike conversations with people in general. She prefers to be by herself and do things on her own, which makes working with others a hard task for her. She is also a creature capable of heartless acts, such as innocent murders, and hold not empathy or sympathy towards others. She believes that those in need, and those who cry for help are useless and have no purpose.

As a creature that lurks during the hours of night, she often does her killing without a blink of an eye or a cringe at the sight of blood. She seems to be quite empty, like a porcelain doll, with an expressionless mask that only cracked when frustrated or angered. Underneath that mask, she hides emotions of sadness, pain, loneliness. Yet, desired no cure for those emotions. She preferred to keep most of her emotions bottled up and locked away. She believes herself not to be weak or useless, as long as she held a strong front.

Despite her mental problems, Tarei is quite intelligent and can gather information when it is required. She often always thinks before she acts, never act first. She learned from her experience as a warrior that impatience will serve no purpose for her. The fox is also capable of deception and seduction, that is something that fox demons were known for after all. Though she never seduced anyone, Tarei is quite the deceptive demon if she wants something, she'll attempt to obtain it, no matter how wrong the way is.

[Canon]
Born on a remote village far away hidden in the forests she was adopted and raised as on of their own children as if these people had given birth to her and raised her as their own while in reality, she was born a stray left for the wolves to prey on, only to be adopted by the kind villagers of a nearby village. Growing up was full of happiness and kindness, these people embraced her and enjoyed her company, read her stories and told her tales under the starlit sky. Yet, there was always an empty feeling, as if something was missing from her so perfect world. Though, their kindness ran short, the head of the village decided that it was time to sacrifice someone, anyone to become the next killing machine for the village, to protect it, to die for it, and who would be better than the stray that was raised by their very own hands?

The kindness was merely a shadow of the truth, when she was forced into hard rigorous training with a sword, just a year after her thirteenth birthday. These humans, hoarded, forced her, and trained her mercilessly, since that body she contained was stronger than most, was better than most. It was a demon's body, a fox demon. They used it to their advantage.

The tears that were spilled, the pain that she had gone through, it certainly paid off five years later when all but a mask replaced her usually cheerful and sunny self. Abandoning that childhood as well as the thought of anyone offering kindness to her ever again, she slaughtered the village, every last one of them and left them in the dark to rot, to turn to sand. She set on a journey after that, to become stronger. She fought, and fought, endlessly fighting until she found a meaning to her futile existence. She desired no kindness, no pity. She would be her own person, and her own protector.

Tarei confirmed then, that she would not allow such emotions of compassion and kindness to ever truly be exposed so easily. As she traveled, the demon fox took odd jobs for money, simple tasks such as mercenary like jobs, and midnight assassinations. Coming and leaving as if she was ghost. Hence the given name to her the assassin, "The Black Butterfly." After so much fighting, she began to find it dull and slowly settled down as a wandering demon, searching for something to interest her, and killings, became minimal. She only killed to survive, killed in defense, yet along that long journey, she still had no answer to her unanswered questions. That's when she found herself in a middle of a new city...
[Timeline]
During her time as a wandering demon.

[RP Sample]
She just told him to come in, she realized that, and never mind the fact that she wasn’t even dressed properly for a visit. She stayed curled, head in her pillow, her facial expression was unreadable hidden underneath the pillow.

She heard his footsteps as he got closer. That feeling that always comes when he approaches, or if he did anything. It seemed to be a bit bothering to her, like she somewhat anxious to see him. Though, that didn’t seem right. She never wanted anything to do with Michael. At least before anyway. Now, she wasn’t so sure. Her uncertainty was just irritating. She had been pulling her hair trying to think of what was going on, and why she had started to act strange, yet, for some reason she found no answer. None at all.

She turned her head somewhat to look at the male with one of her icy blue hues. He was serious, so she didn’t find it worth it to be sarcastic about it. Slowly the fox herself rose from the bed, to a sitting position, her pillow left a mess at the head board and she shifted to a sitting position, blue eyes fixed on him, awaiting whatever he had to say, her night clothes were in a disarray, she had never looked so, well lazy in her life before.

At least to other people anyway. It struck her that he meant what he as saying, that he was going away. For what reason, she wanted to ask, but the fox kept her mouth shut and said nothing, only listening to whatever else he had to say to her. She could tell he wasn’t playing around now, the way he spoke, she had never heard him spoke like this before.

Why did it feel painful to hear that? She was almost against it, almost about to say something out of line, out of character, but she kept her mouth shut, surely he wasn’t serious, but that tone… Her eyes somewhat still fixed on him sharp and clear, waiting for the rest of the words. It seemed difficult for him to say them. It took her a moment to process the next words. He loved her? That word felt so foreign, so distant. She hadn’t heard it since the human boy… She seemed shaken by the words he just said.

Only her? He fell in love with her? The fox was trying to process it all, her fingers tied knots in her lap. She was surprised, clearly, and it showed in her eyes, if not her face. She was speechless, wordless.

The only thing she managed to cough up was a few small words, “Wh-what…are you tal-talking about?” LOVE? That word was the last thing she was expecting from him, “…I-I don’t…understand,” she whispered, “How does…one such as myself…deserve…love?” she finished, her voice barely audible now. She looked down. She stopped talking when she realized that she had spoken the last words aloud. Why did she say that? No one was suppose to hear that, especially not him.

[I have read and understand the rules?] Yes of course.
