I am so very lucky that my parents have never forced me into anything. I study not only because I want to be a doctor, or want it to "look good on my CV," or some bullshit like that, but because I genuinely enjoy it. Science rocks my socks. I not only want to become a physician, but I also want to do awesome molecular biology research and teach

But I know what you mean...Ever since I told my dad about the 7 year program he brings it up everytime I talk to him. Pretty annoying to say the least.
