Who: Anko and Urahara
Where: Urahara's Shop
When: Mid-day
Warnings: None.

Anko had totally just accepted an invitation to join a wonderful and exotic escape to Brazil. Although she was incredibly excited, she wanted to meet the guy who was in charge of all this. Glancing at the small paper where she'd written the address, her violet eyes roved aorund the neighborhood. Yeah, this was the right spot. Finally, she saw the store just a few yards away and made her way towards it. Dressed in a casual black turtle neck and some tight blue jeans, she bobbed into the store.

Urahara was in the back storage when he heard the bell to the store ding. "Coming." He put the last box up before coming out from the back. "Welcome to the Urahara Shop, how can I help you?" He was dressed in his normal attire as he always wore when he was in the store or around the house: sandles, hat, and all.

"Er... I'm Anko." She gave him a simple little smile, still a bit wary when she met new people. "You asked me to come by since I wanted to talk to you a little before the trip and all," she explained in case he forgot who she was. Her eyes were darting around the store while she spoke.

"Oh yes," Urahara mused. "Anko-san. Pull a chair and have a seat. As you see, my business is quite slow today."

"Heh yeah," she said before she could stop herself. But she probably didn't realize it might have been impolite. Looking around she picked a spot and sat down, feeling a little more comfortable now that she ahd been in there for a while. "So, um, thanks for inviting me to go and all."

"Ah not a problem. I figure it's always good to bring company along. Not that Rio is a strange place to me, I just figured other people would love to see it." He leaned forward on his desk and smiled. "I wouldn't want to keep such a wonderful place all to myself after all. That would be selfish of me."

She smiled genuinely, liking his manner already and deciding she would probably have a lot of fun on the trip. "So who else is going," she asked, intrigued to know who their companions might be. She could get along anywhere, but it helped to at least speak to the people she'd be spending a considerable amount of time with.

"Ah, Ukitake Jyuushiro and Rukia-chan. She doens't have a last name. Cute little sixteen year old that looks like she's twelve. I think she might be inviting her friend though. Aburai Renji."

The name Ukitake sounded familliar and then she realized where she'd heard it. "Oh yeah! The vegetable guy!" Anko realized how bizzare that sounded so she explained, "I met Jyuushiro-san at a grocery store. But I don't know the others."

"Ah yes, he's my fellow old man, I call him, " Urahara replied. "You'll see them all in due time however. Tell me Anko-san, have you traveled much?"

She didn't have to think on that. She hadn't travelled very much at all, in her opinion. "I've been to Europe, but no where else really. And it is one of my ambitions to see different places," she admitted. Who didn't love to travel?

"Oh where in Europe?" he again questioned. "I've been to quite a few places there myself."

"London," she said. "Mostly there, though I did take a short trip to Amsterdam." That was a crazy night, but she didn't go into any details. She just smiled innocently. "Where have you been, you seem to know about a lot of different places?"

"I've been..." Urahara thought on it for a moment. "Ah I lost count." He smirked some. "Though my favorite places to spend my vacations at are Brazil, New Zealand, and Niagra Falls."

"Wow," she said wide-eyed. "You have been a lot of places!" Anko was genuinely impressed. She could die happily if she spent her life travelling. But for that she'd need a lot of money, and that was a tiny problem. This guy must be loaded.

"My parents were into traveling a lot when I was a kid. I followed along with them, and now I suppose I'm following in their footsteps when it comes to that passion of theres." Even though it was more of a survival effort than a passion.

"Hm, I wish I'd grown up that way, sounds amazing. I kind of get bored real easily just seeing all the same stuff every day." It was a childish way of explaining that there was a big world out there she intended to see. She really couldn't be any more grateful. And this really came at a time of personal exploration, Anko felt she needed to make a change.

Urahara's expression softened some. "It was an ...interesting life style," he responded. "Still is."

"I'll bet. So what made you want to drag along a bunch of crazy kids," she joked in reference to Rukia, herself and Renji whom she assumed was also young.

"Ah, so I seem that old to you?" He leaned back in her chair and smirked. "Well, Rukia-chan is an old friend of mine. And I asked you to come on a whim, to help fill up the spot I had."

She panicked and shook her hands dramatically. "Oh no! You look pretty young actually, but, I mean... That is to say, usually more mature people hate hanging around... I'm dragging myself in deeper, huh," she asked sheepishly.

"Oh, I find it amusing," he chuckled. "And I'm more immature than what I let on."

"Well, that works," she smiled, his demeanor easing her panic. He seemed like a laid back guy and she was anxious to spend a bit more time with him, and even Ukitake whom she had taken a liking to as well. "It sounds like it will be a lot of fun, I can't thank you enough for going with your instinct. I really need this." She didn't want to give away very much, but sometimes Anko had a problem controlling her tongue.

"Ah, then I suppose I should trust my instint more often. Something good might finally come out of it for me."

She laughed, and stopped herself from warning him that she could be a handful. Even she admitted that. "Well, I guess I should be going, I don't want to take up any more of your time." Even if the store was empty he looked like he was busy when she stepped in.

"Ah, I'm enjoying the company. As you can see, there really isn't much to do. The store does more online imports more than anything." He took his hat from his head and ran his fingers through his hair. Even if Anko was a handful she couldn't have been much more than what Yoruichi had been. He could handle mostly anything.

"Oh I see," she glanced around, focusing her eyes on him when he removed the hat. She was curious to see him without it but wouldn't have asked. She was always just curious about people that way. "Well, if you're sure I'm not intruding." Anko really didn't have much else to do.

"Not at all." The a meow could be heard as a little black cat came through the kitty door. "Ah, this is Kuroko-chan. Kuroko-chan, meet, Anko-san." The cat seemed to ignore the woman and hop on the desk demanding attention from Urahara. "Ah, someone is jealous."

Anko leaned forward, smilling. She liked cats and black ones particularly held her attention. "She's beautiful. If my roommate wasn't such a neat freak, I'd have a cat," she mused, admiring the felines bid for attention.

"Oh? Who's your roommate?" He rubbed the cat from the back of her neck to the base of her tail.

"Masaki Jin, I really just met her though answering an ad. I needed a place fast, so," she shrugged and continued admiring the cat. "I am not picky, but unfortunately for me, she is." She smiled wryly.

"Ah it happens. I'm quite glad I inherited the house and store from my parents. Rooming with people could be troublesome. "

"Yeah tell me about it," she said, recalling the nightmare that had been her previous roommate. But she really didn't want her to think about all that now. "So, have you ever thought about renting out your house," she asked out of genuine curiousity, simply citing what she'd do in a similar situation.

"Oh no," he suggested. "I had planned on using it all for myself eventually."

"Don't you get lonely," she asked, not really drawing the natural conclusion that it might be too forward a question to ask a person you just met.

Kisuke paused from petting his cat for a moment and reflect on the not so distant past. "Sometimes. But I have Kuroko-chan."

"Pets always make better companions than people. At least they're loyal." She was thinking about herself too, not just her slew of bad relationships.

"That they are. Though I'm pretty sure, Kuroko would prefer Ishida-kun over me if he ever stopped by. I had him watch her when I was in Canada back in March, and she grew rather fond of him. I could barely pry her back."

Anko laughed. "No way, she seems to love you. She was probably just mad because she thought you ditched her."

"But cats are funny creatures. In front of you they do nothing but show you that they love you," he replied. "Then they prove differently behind you back." Urahara stopped himself right there. "Ah, but you're right I think about Kuroko-chan."

"That's why it's so special when a cat really cares about you, because they're so choosy. They choose their owners, not the other way around." She looked at the feline with a fondness in her eyes. It was always special to be loved, to be picked out just like that, just because you were you.

A smile spread across his lips. "My, that's quite a wise thing for you to say, Anko-san."

"I have my moments," she shrugged, grinning.

"Ah this will definately be an interesting trip then." Kuroko had enough attention and hoped down from the desk to pad out the room. "A mouse I assume."

Her eyes followed the cat as it made it's exit. "Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. You're a pretty cool guy," she admitted, her eyes darting back to face him. She didn't beat around the bush much, she liked being forward, it made things easier.

"Why thank you, I try." The smile on his face turned into a smirk. "And you're a pleasent young woman to be around."

"Thanks," she exclaimed. She really tried to be on her best behavior around people that didn't know her very well. "I hope this trip will be a life changing experience for me. Maybe I'll have an epiphany." She was completely serious.

Urahara looked up at her and blinked slightly. "My seems like you're on quite the journay then. I hope that it helps then."

"I really think it will," she didn't want to build her hopes too high but this was one of those gut feelings that she just had to go with.

Just then the phone rang on his desk. "Ah, one moment please." He picked up the phone. "Moshi mosh." He expression faultered a bit to a stern expression, but it didn't last long. "As yes, your shipment is in. Hnnn-hnnn. This afternoon. Yes, I can do that. Have a good day sir." He hung up the phone. "Ah, Anko-san I'd hate to kick you out after I've already told you you could stay, but it seems I have an important customer on the way here."

She nodded, expecting he'd have to get back to work eventually. Standing up, she offered him her nicest smile. "It was great to meet you. I guess I'll see you here on the 1st. What time should I stop by?"
"Ah the flight leaves in the afternoon, so that morning would be a good time." Urahara stood up and moved to walk her out.

"Sounds good. Thanks again for taking me along." She shook his hand once they reached the door. "See you around," she waved casually and turned on her heal to walk away with that springy excited step of hers.
