First, Ace update. He has developed a bit of an intermittent tremor in his hind legs. Is he cold? Is it palsy? It comes and goes, and who knows why. He also now has a little bit of a jerk when he starts nodding off. Reminds me of Sandra Day O'Connor. (Not her politics, which were/are foul; her palsy.)

He vomited New Year's Day for no reason we could figure out, and now, sometimes, clearly has discomfort when attending to certain personal needs. But he seems to still be happier than not, more comfortable than not, and so... until we get clearer info, he's going to continue as he is now. He goes out with Savant daily to add some variety to his life, since we can't have visitor dogs right now.

We can't, because with visitor dogs come visitor people, and we are still contagious. Savant is still too sick to go into the office and is doing what he can from home, which isn't much. Poor pale little rat! We can tell I'm getting better and he's getting worse.

Abu Felix gave me this great link to very brief histories of toys such as the Slinky (but they missed that Mrs. Slinky, Betty James, just passed away in November at age 90), Lincoln Logs (Frank Lloyd Wright's son!), Play-Doh, Etch-A-Sketch (related to Atari), and how Trivial Pursuit almost never came to be. Go see!

AND NOW THE GOOD NEWS

menagerie73 is coming home from Afghanistan! May, in fact, have landed as I write this. Yay! Yay! If you are on his flist, go see.

Nephew is coming home from Iraq at mid-month very briefly, but he has to go back. Menagerie gets to stay. Yay!
