RSS Readers

Is it me, or do all RSS readers have serious issues?

LiveJournal:
Is a great Rss reader, but it ends up on my Friends page, and that makes it impractical.

Mozilla Thunderbird:
I don't remember why actually. I did use it for email some time later. Used it for a few weeks

RssOwl:
Stopped downloading http://community.livejournal.com/lippy_addicts/data/rss all of a sudden. One day, with 2 unread messages, I was unable to open the feed. Click the feed in the list, and RssOwl does nothing. Update all feeds, this one is not updated. Used it for 5 months, stopped with the 3rd failure.

RssBandit:
I quit using RssOwl, and started using RssBandit. Looked great until after a few weeks, a number of feeds now lost their URL. The first had it's URL replaced with Google (and I always use Bing), another had it's URL mixed up with the main Blog URL, and one lost it's URL (so the textbox is empty). The LiveJournal feed lost it's login information. Using it 3 months now, with 5 failures having occurred.

FeedMonster:
Looked promising, but doesn't work at all. If I'ld find how to add a feed to it, I might be able to test it. Does have the weird effect that it looks like it's made by a good developer and a 10-year old.

They all have good reviews, seem to have big userbases, but apparently also have serious issues. So now I am making my own RSS Reader. At least then if it fails I can fix it.

livejournal, computers, public, it
