I love bee flies & syrphids! They're cool as hell. I saw a bee fly on some Marsh Marigold the other day. I said something along the lines of "heh, I'm on to you." Unfortunately it flew away before I could get a picture.

They're way too quick! Very hard to photograph.

In general, I'm a big fan of Batesian mimics (and crypsis).

That is something along the lines of an idea I had for a quarter sleeve tattoo. Thank you for this because it helps me visualize what's in my head a lot better. haha

Yeah, it's freakin crazy! Should have seen it trying to clean itself before it flew off... but the mites are right where it couldn't reach.

I've never seen a bee with so many mites; closest I've seen has been the load on some carrion beetles.
