I took some time outside this afternoon in the harshly bright mid-afternoon sun to take some photos for my 365 Project, and decided I wanted to share more. These are all taken in my parents' yard or in the hospital parking lot (I took my mom in, she's ok).

Maple bark is so delightfully shingled, but I often have a hard time properly capturing bark textures with my lenses and level of skill... I rarely get a chance to try bark textures with macros, so, when something caught my eye, I decided to give it a try.
... But when I snapped the shot, I didn't see what I was after...

The little bastard had moved when the camera got too close :P
Unfortunately it was just then that Mom asked me to take her to the hospital, so I left my friend alone.

While photographing the next shot, I was visited by this crow, who was gracious enough to let me photograph him.

The red maples are starting to flower! Some of the trembling aspen and willows also have their catkins out... spring is coming! Along with the flowers come insects, and with the insects come spiders :) They appear all over the place if you happen to look.
