Chugging Along At 4mph...
So yeah, back from holiday. I'm kinda tired now so I'm just going to list a few things before hopping over to K's to watch girly girly films
Things I liked:
- Being up early and getting something done whilst everyone else was asleep
- Seeing those swans and their seven cygnets <3
- The pretty scenery
- Actually getting some exercise from the locks
- Watching pikeys leg it once we turned towards the bank, because they thought we were going to hurt them
- Seeing the Roman Baths
- Sitting on the top of the boat doing nothing
- Getting some reading done
- Good pub food
Things I disliked/irritated me:
- My room being the living room/breakfast table/place where everyone sat to read when all I wanted to do was SLEEP
- The extreme lack of privacy
- My older brother's constant chatter about his/everyone else's bowels...
- Doing 29 locks in a row in the rain
- Going up the 29 locks only to come straight back through them the VERY NEXT DAY
- Pikeys attacking our boat in Bath
- Drinking Spa water
- The -very- cramped conditions that come from being on a narrowboat
- The arguements that arise from above
- Country pubs not knowing how to make White Cubans, and calling us snotty Londoners (when we're not)
- Long car journeys
Things that caught me by surprise:
- Getting home and trying to cook pasta/soup, picking up a pan and going "That's much too large, I need a smaller one", realising I'm holding the smallest pan we have and finding out a week on a boat with tiny saucepans has screwed with my mind
- Realising that I wobble when I'm off the boat, still wobbling now, and will take at least a week to stop
- Being able to walk through corridors in my house without feeling walls touch me on both sides
- Getting a good nights sleep because I'm not rocking, near a pub, or have my brother's partner's light from the next compartment spilling under the door
