Japanese art: penmanship
Tonight, i saw a penmanship demonstration by Mrs Naomi Fujimoto at L'Univers du Japon shop.
We were about 15 people and the lady began to introduce herself by explaining her name's meaning. I just remembered about her first name, Naomi, which means "honnest beauty" (Nao = honnesty; Mi = beauty).
She arrived in France 6 months ago and before being in Lyon, she has lived in Chambéry and Aix-les-bains. She's graduated on Japanese penmanship and obviously she gives class to people who are interested in.
First of all, she asked us what we want her to write. And i replied if we can get our first names as a souvenir. So she did ! Each names are written into Hiraganas (left column) and Katakanas (right column)

And during that, Denis (manager's shop) explained about that art, and mainly about Japanese writting: at the beginning, it came from China. But some "sounds" didn't exist in Japanese language so other systems were created for to complete: the Kanas (Hiraganas + Katakanas). For foreigners who wants to learn it, it's easier to start by the Kanas, and then the Kanjis [that's what I'm doing with Hiraganas].
That kinda art is very respected in Japan, not considered with the same eye than us, Western people. Many official documents are written into that form ! If I can get my diplomas like this, I'd be rather proud to put it on my walls, trust me !
At about 8:15pm it ended. We thank Mrs Fujimoto and Denis for that and before leaving, he told us a new demonstration will stand next month about Origami by a French guy. I dunno yet if I'll go there but I'm interested !

I learnt a lot about that art I must say. We think that's easier, but it's not true infact. It's very technical and you have to be very precise on many things. That's called ART !!!
I keep that sheet of paper as a treasure cause it means a lot for me ! I'll put it on my walls later ^___^
