[five things for a monday night]
Hi, LJ! Or, should I say zdrasvutsye? Heh. That's the last you'll hear from me about the Russian stuff. Anyway, it's a Monday night, I just got home from class, and now I'm sitting around in a masque, so I thought it'd be a good time to make a random post. XD So here goes.
1. I just got back from class. ._. I'm just now realising that I have five days of class left. And then I graduate. I have been in college since 1998. I don't think I know what I'm going to do with myself after that. I mean, obviously I'll be teaching still, and probably celebrating by writing tonnes of fic and reading books that aren't for school, but aside from that. Gah. Maybe I'll try to take up yoga again or something to fill all the extra time.
2. Somewhat relatedly, I decided I needed to resurrect my Other Journal and start posting up all of my academic papers and such again. I did that a couple years ago when I was working on my first Masters, but I kind of let it fall by the wayside, and so now I have like two years of papers built up that need to be posted. I shan't give out the name just yet because I want to get it all prettified first, but when I do, I'll let you guys know just in case you feel like reading my academic dorkitude.
3. My flat smells like miiiiint. I bought a bag of those mint truffle Hershey kisses today, and they're now in a bowl on my table along with the regular ones, the hot cocoa ones, and the candy cane ones, and god it smells good in here. NOW it's starting to feel like Christmas, even if it IS oddly warm here. This time last year we had like, six inches of snow.
4. Speaking of Christmas! merry_smutmas (now over on IJ). santa_smex. christmas_cacti. My fics for all are done and sent off and a sum total of about 60,000 words, and now I am going to be writing a pinch hit as well to add to that, but really the point was that you should be reading! There's been some really AWESOME stuff posted lately - today's fic at christmas_cacti was SUPER-cute, and there's been some smokin' art over at Smutmas. So go check them out! You won't regret it!
5. ALSO speaking of Christmas, my Christmas cards are DONE. WOO. I will be trying to send those out tomorrow, but I have plenty of extra cards, so if you still want one, just let me know! I'll screen comments on this post so you can leave your address here.
Okaaaaay, time's up, so I am off to go wash my face. :D How's everyone doing today? ♥
ETA: WOW, I lose at this game. XD I was just going through my drawer in search of envelopes and I found a stack of old Christmas cards. Written, addressed, and everything. From 2005.
